Saw these guys open up for Mother Mother last night and they rocked it! They were so energetic and fun to watch. I actually enjoyed them more than I did Mother Mother.

Daniel Wilson - If You Went Away
Such a beautiful song. I love his voice and the simple piano background paired with the haunting lyrics and melody.

Broods - Mother & Father
Mellow, but gripping song. Their debut album comes out August 22nd and I will definitely have to check out their other stuff.

Tiny Victories - Scott & Zelda
This song has been sitting on my playlist for about a month now and though I liked it, it never really fully resonated with me. Then today, seemingly out of nowhere, I was finally awakened to the sheer awesomeness of this song and just kept listening to it on repeat today. Love!

tUnE-yArDs - Water Fountain
I love tUnE-yArDs songs. They're perky, upbeat and catchy as hell. I love them almost as much as I despise typing out tUnE-yArDs with all those weird upper and lower cases. I would like to take exception to this video in one respect though. Sticking straws into a potato does not qualify as science. Glad I got that off my chest. Enjoy.

MisterWives - Money on my Mind
I just recently listened to the Sam Smith original version of this song and I can't say I'm a fan. This cover definitely blows the original out of the water!

Caitlin Park - Hold Your Gaze
I like her soft vocals and the little big of twang from what sounds like the banjo. Interesting combination.

The Neighbourhood - Afraid (4e remix)
This song has the description "4e hate remixes, but they love the NBHD"...pretty much sums it up. This is a gem of a remix and you would be losing out if you didn't download it (available for download on soundcloud)

Sia ft. The Weeknd and Diplo - Elastic Heart
Sometimes I'm obsessive. I never know what will trigger my obsessive tendencies, but it's a little frightening when it does. Two have hit me at the same time this week. The first was Divergent. I devoured all 3 Divergent trilogy books (plus the 2 short stories) in the course of 5 days, peaking in an uncontrollable sobbing fit while reading the 3rd book. Veronica Roth is a sadist. That's the only logical reason I can come up for that ending.
The second was this song. I finally got around to buying the Blu-ray of Catching Fire (one of my past obsessions: Hunger Games) and I saw that for an extra $5 I could get a download of the soundtrack. What the hell, I thought. Best decision I've made this week! On average, the soundtrack is very strong, but this song in particular has really hooked me. I easily listened to it on repeat for a solid 3 hours one day. Enjoy!

Parade of Lights - Golden
This is the second Parade of Lights tune I've heard and it's great as well. Definitely going to have to check these guys out in more depth.

Lincoln Jesser - Tops
Give it a listen. Catchy. Love the "wha-wha" effect. Sounds kind of like someone is using a saw as a musical instrument.

MS MR - Dance Yrself Clean
I just found this in my drafts. Apparently I never hit publish about a month ago. Whoopsidoodle.

Bo Saris - Little Bit More
Hmmm...how to describe....Fitz & the Tantrums meets Michael Buble meets Adele? Sure. Let's go with that. Whatever the essences are, it's very catchy.
